Training is open to unemployed First Nations Youth (15-29) living in the Cariboo Chilcotin
- Twelve (12) seats are available and all will be targeted to committed First Nations Youth seeking employment
- Tuition, books, hot lunches, transportation, safety equipment (gloves, boots) and a small incentive based on attendance will be provided
- Living supports MUST be confirmed

| Home Support/Resident Care Attendant Program - Monday, January 11, 2010Home Support/Resident Care Attendant Program
Training includes but is not limited to:
Transition Program:
- English 050
- Student Success/Workplace Essential Skills: Personal Development, Study Skills, Learning Strategies
- Introduction to Home Support Resident Care Attendant: Intro to Medical Terminology, Tour of a Long-Term Care Facility, Orientation/Interview, Criminal Record Checks, Medicals, Immunization Recoords
- Certificates: FoodSafe Level 1, WHMIS, First Aid Level 1
Prerequisites:
- Students need to have Grade 11
- Students must complete the Accuplacer Assessment. The results must indicate the student is functioning at a Grade 11 level.
Training Dates: September 20 - November 19, 2010 (8 Weeks)
Home Support Resident Care Program:
- HSRC 100 Health: Lifestyle & Choices
- HSRC 105 Human Relations: Interpersonal Communications
- HSRC110 Work Role: Into to HS/RCA Practice
- HSRC 115 Healing: Personal Care Skills for HS/RCA
- HSRC 120 Health & Healing: Concepts for Practice
- HSRC 125 Home Support Attendant: Pratical Experience
- HSRC 130 Resident Care Attendant: Clinical Practice
- HSRC 135 Healing: Special Needs in Client/Resident Care
Prerequisites:
- Grade 11
- Accuplacer Assessment at a Grade 11 level, (ENGL050)
- Appropriate First Aid (provided in the Transition Program)
- Attendance at an interview/orientation session (provided in the Transition Program)
- Tour of a Continuing Care Facility (provided in the Transition Program)
- FoodSafe (provided in the Transition Program)
- Criminal Record Check (provided in the Transition Program)
- Successful Medical - it is suggested that the student should be in good physical health with NO back problems
- Up to date immunizations
Training Dates: January 04 - June 24, 2011 - 24 weeks
Please note that acceptance into the Transition Program does not guarantee admission to the Home Support Resident Care program.
